This morning we had a 80% partial solar eclipse. For a long time it seemed like the sun would not rise and then suddenly the light returned.

Unfortunately it was cloudy and not possible to get a shot of the eclipse from where I was going to work but the strange light we had was possible to capture anyway which was what I had to settle for.

Today’s shot is from my work at SL. The radios shown in the middle (one with a lit screen) are the Buskom system, our own TETRA radio network in Stockholm, the big one on the right hand side is the old VHF analogue train radio system used by all rail traffic (cityspårvägen and the commuter trains excepted, the first uses Busskom and the others use GSM-R)

So now you can see some of the tools of my trade.

Today we did a spontaneous photo walk around the south end of Stockholm. You can see my gallery here and David’s gallery here. We had a pretty good time although it was chilly.

New year first day and we had such a great time with visiting friends today. I have today started my 365 photos project documenting my life in 2011 in photographs. This is the first day of the project and there will be many more over the year to come. I hope that 2011 will not be as eventful as 2010 was, we had lots of sorrow and bad stuff happening last year.

The photograph was taken when we had friends visiting and their youngest got sleepy and dozed off in our bed.
